I enjoyed this trip last week and it is so convenient that I decided to try it again. It rained last week so I was hoping the water would be higher. Overall, I didn't notice much change in the water level, but only was stuck one time since I was better at reading the river.
I basically took the same route except I went took the left branch of the river around Packer's Island which is just before the Rt 31 bridge. I went under a huge tree that goes completely across the river. If there was another foot of water, this would be a problem, so be aware.
